Bear of the Zoo
From the depths of the wilderness, tethered and bound to be a slave of the human race. He is mighty. But he is no longer proud. Dance we shout with glee. Oh to the pits of depravity and shame we have sunk to, to watch a wild beast beg. Our minds are depraved and evil and we don't even know it. We accept evil in our midst so easily. Just get on with it, they say. Nothing you can do. He bows his head in pain and hunger and desperation for a morsel. He will never know the forest and mountain to roam. Berries and salmon abounding. Because you see humanity has cut his homewoods down to make way for the towns and cities of civilized man. And civilised people are sick. They accept monstrous wrongs to be committed in their name. Their relationship to the land has vanished along with the great woods and wild creatures. When all you know is concrete, how can you yearn for the peace of the woods. For what is Wild is Beautiful and Free. And what is tamed whether beast or man is malformed to fit the purpose of the slave master
